In late 2019 and early 2020, the world woke up to the COVID-19 pandemic also known as the coronavirus pandemic which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
The World Health Organization declared a Public Health Emergency of International concern on 30 January, 2020 and later declared a pandemic on 11 March, 2020. As a result, we were placed on lock down, instructed to use masks, social distance, wash and sanitize our hands and no social activities.
This affected individuals, Businesses, Organizations including us at AWC. We couldn’t carry out any activities in 2020 except virtual meetings.
As normalcy began to return in 2021 and with the introduction of the COVID vaccine, we decided to have our first physical activity which was held on the 21st of May, 2021,
Our AWC Family reunion. It was good to reconnect with members and their families amidst fun, laughter and good food. We sure have a lot of catching up to do on our social and charitable activities! See pictures below.
